Spriggan Mist and Flutatious plus guests had a Wassail
Wassailing comes in 2 varieties, this was the “Orchard” variety

The orchard-visiting wassail refers to the ancient custom of visiting orchards in cider-producing regions of England. They involve reciting incantations and singing to the trees to promote a good harvest for the coming year.

I saw 2 bands, and a “Mari Lwyd”, an eponymous hobby horse made from a horse’s skull mounted on a pole. This was carried by an individual hidden under a sackcloth – part of the wassailing tradition, and the Morris Dancing troupe

Because this was an Orchard wassail, there was also an apple tree, with a piece of toast on the top branch to feed the birds. One of the organisers then blessed it as part of the wassail ceremony
There was also a troupe of belly dancers that espoused the pagan traditions that were throughout the show.

It was delightful to watch and the music was outstanding, what an eclectic evening!
